Cabrillo College Archaeology Field School, another Day 1 Reflection - Written By Rachael C.

Field School Student Rachael C.

It was a fun time riding up here. Dusty is such a funny guy. I had fun hanging out with a lot of people and it was fun learning how to use a compass.  There was a lot of walking to find what your pace is in meters.  It was also fun getting here and hanging out and getting a big syllabus. I like how we went on a hike a we saw difference archaeology sites.

We saw different kinds of midden and flaked Monterey chert.  We also saw some bones and some shells. It was also nice and fun to meet the Native American tribal members.  It was great to see the ocean and I wasn’t afraid of the animals we saw. We saw a hawk that flew over. It was fun day and I enjoyed it.
